Size Guide

Choosing the right size

Adult bike sizes are normally measured from the top of the seat tube (where the seat post fits into the frame) down to the centre of the bottom bracket axle (the axle which carries the pedal cranks).

With the correct frame size you should be able to sit on the saddle with your feet on tip-toes touching the ground on either side, and you must be able to reach the handlebars comfortably.

It is sometimes worth considering a smaller frame with the saddle raised slightly in order to obtain a more comfortable reach.

  1. Array Gents Cross Bar Ebike
    4 out of 5

Very pleased with Raleigh Array Crossbar Electric Bike. It does whizz me up the hills as I had hoped. Especially good is how fast I can now go up inclines, cutting down journey times markedly. The bike is beautifully balanced and a joy to ride, easier and smoother than my hybrid when I switch the electric assist off on the flat or downhill.

Bike arrived by courier with damage to headset locknut, which the Bike Factory replaced quickly. It looked like the bike had fallen in the courier's van, fortunately not doing more damage as the bike had been so well bubble-wrapped. The rear brakes on my Array and the one I road tested are rubbish, but replacing the standard brake blocks with decent ones has fixed that failing. The other problem was cycling up a really steep, wet hill: the front wheel sped round on the wet. To counter this possibility I am moving all possible weight to the front of the bike - water bottle, tools and anything heavy, as well as hanging my rear paniers further forward than I had. In the dry the Array is brilliant at getting up even our Devon hills, which often rise 1000 feet in one go, and now I arrive at the top with a smile and speed off across the moors.

Suggestion Raleigh, or Bike Factory - fit the best rear brake blocks so the bike stops safely.
