It may be the end of summer and therefore cause for despair for many cyclists, but worry not, there is reason to be joyful. Autumn and winter can provide us with spectacularly adventurous riding when we're not drooling over all the new kit that bike brands are bringing out. And let's not forget what comes with heralding in a new season of bikes: the sale is here! We've already introduced you to some of the top bikes featuring in our sale, but that hardly even scratched the surface. So here we list a whole host of machines to suit different riding styles and disciplines, and all with a whopping great discount.

Road bikes

Every year there's reason to get excited about an ultra-light frame, race-level disc brakes or a pioneering new technology. We've got it all here and in models that have been raced around Europe to astronomic success. The 2017 model of the Specialized Tarmac was the first disc-equipped road bike to be raced by the pros. As always, beneath the pumping pistons of riders from Bora-Hansgrohe and Quick-Step Floors, the Tarmac was a familiar sight at the pointy end of the peloton. Also from Specialized is the 2017 Roubaix, a bike for which the American brand ripped up the road bike rule book. Take a look up front and you'll see the unique Future Shock technology under the stem; Specialized's innovative suspension system designed with the cobbled classics in mind.

Mountain bikes

Mountain biking keeps surging in popularity and it's a wonder that brands can keep up with demand, but they do, and they keep bringing out better, faster and cooler bikes. Everyone's favourite mountain bike is the Specialized Stumpjumper, which first debuted back in 1981. Back then, it set the bar for off-road cycling and it continues to do so today. The Stumpjumper FSR Comp Carbon features a frame made from FACT 9m carbon fibre and is equipped with a RockShox Yari fork with 110mm of travel for supreme comfort and control. From Trek, is the Remedy, a bike optimised for enduro and technical trails. With a compact alloy frame, RockShox Lyrik RC fork, sturdy tubeless ready Bontrager wheels and a SRAM X1 one-by groupset, the Remedy promises an exciting day on the trails.

Adventure bikes

Bikepacking is a craze which has enveloped the world and spawned the creation of countless new bikes equipped for adventure. Specialized regenerated their Sequoia for 2017, designing an all-terrain steel-framed bike with a tuned ride and hand-built Adventure Gear Cruzero wheels. Ample tyre clearance and rack mounts all over the frame make the Sequoia a versatile and perfectly-suited bike for even the longest of journeys. Also from Specialized is the Diverge, a road bike with a penchant for unpaved surfaces. A stiff frame and endurance geometry paired with wide clearance and proprietary Zertz inserts equip the Diverge with the varied characteristics needed for all-road riding.

Commuting bikes

Cyclists commuting by bike have a different set of demands to those of us racing around on road bikes or mountain bikers heading for the hills. With the advent of affordable e-bikes, urban riding is undergoing a renaissance. Suit-wearing commuters are given the luxury of cruising through town without breaking a sweat on a bike like the Trek Conduit, yours now at a 17% saving. If motor-assisted commuting is not your thing, then you can do worse than the Specialized Sirrus, the most popular hybrid bike on the market. The Carbon Disc model adds performance to the urban frame and comes equipped with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for ultimate reliability in traffic.
